Windows 7 pre-beta hits BitTorrent | |

The pre-beta version of Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system released to developers at the Professional Developers Conference has already made it onto prominent BitTorrent sites, where thousands of enthusiasts around the world are currently downloading it. Well-known BitTorrent sites such as The Pirate Bay and Mininova were at the time of publication Friday hosting multiple downloads of the newly aired operating system--both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. |

It was on various ftp sites and irc well before it made it onto bittorrent too. Which is true of every single version of Windows since before Windows 95. Why is this newsworthy? |

| Addresses lots and lots of issues with Vista, a solid improvement but not the ultimate improvement, I fear MS will again remove some features which were present in Vista. |

@Windian - what issues did you have that made you say "lots and lots of issues with Vista"?
If they were hardware/driver related or RAM or a lack of a proper graphics card, you will have the say "issues" with Win7 as it uses the same drivers as Vista. |

#3: Based on what people who have used Windows 7 are saying the new OS is faster than Vista and managing RAM way better; being, or at least being called, a pre-alpha release this is impressing.

Remember its still early in development. The PDC Windows 7 Pre-beta is really for ISVs to tie up any loose ends and get their software ready using the new SDKs for things like Touch support tightening any compatibility issues before RTM. For a Pre-beta its very stable. A lot of the features and flash won't start showing until Beta 1 and the RCs. It looks a lot like Vista right now, Microsoft is saving some surprises for the RTM. |
