Pirated Windows 7 on sale at China PC bazaar | |

The vendor at the Beijing bazaar said she said had sold pirated copies of Windows 7 for more than a month and had a dozen buyers on some days. She kept the program discs in a low cabinet that she opened only when asked specifically for the OS. It was not clear if the pirated Windows 7 disc carried malicious code, but its setup file promoted a Web site, www.pkghost.cn, infested with a high level of malware. Google found 31 scripting exploits, 25 Trojans and 21 other exploits on the site, according to its diagnostic page. |

"Pirated software packages sold in China often include malware" This is why they should download the malware-free version themselves off the internet for free*. *Note: Minus ISP and electricity charges. |

Since she's been selling these copies for over a month and since Windows 7 has RTMed just a short while ago, a lot of what was sold are either RCs or betas.
It's a known fact that you can easily find software quite easily in Chinese bazaars. Originally they sold the discs out in the open and the Chinese cops did nothing. Now that China wants to be a bit nicer regarding copyright infringement, this poor lady is forced to hide them. :-) |
