Today's Windows Mobile 6.5 launch is great news for new smartphone buyers, but what if you've already got a Microsoft-powered device? Here's how to upgrade it.

Sorry Brian this update is more of a punt to get some new features out before the WM7 release. When WM7 is released then we can have a serious comparison to the iPhone... pretty sure Microsoft has made no bones about it.
However, from what I've heard this OS is actually quite decent and provides a lifeboat to someone waiting or WM7. I choose to go ahead and pickup the new cheaper iPhone as a lifeboat till I see what WM7 has to offer. At that point I'll choose which of the new phones to really commit to. TBH if the Zune client on my desktop and the ZuneHD I played with at Best Buy are any example of how they are changing the user experience on their phone I'll be happy to wait another year and pickup a new Microsoft phone that is expected to be on the same playing field as the iPhone. If not, Pal-Pre here I come.

#1 A really poorly executed wannabe at that - iPhone had multi-touch in 2007! Microsoft can't even copy features from 2 years ago.

I'm looking to update my HTC Ozone to WM 6.5. Apparently there will be an upgrade in November through Verizon.

Why play with these toys when you can use a Blackberry? My Bold and freeware AmazeGPS got me to and from a concert in Montreal last week. Let's see your iPhone or WM phone do that.
