I've now tested 12 different smartphone displays, including the two new ones presented today. Android and iPhone fans remain as passionate as ever about seemingly every aspect of their favorite phones, but now a new fighter enters the tournament. Today we test our first Windows Phone 7...um, phone. (I still have an aversion to the OS name.)

meh, I can't say I'm overly enthused by Win Phone 7. Took to long to develop, too many features yanked....

I have to agree with you! there is nothing compelling about wp7. As as matter of fact the hardware is inferior to the latest android and iphone versions.
as for the OS it is ok, no better or worse than the others. Unfortunately for MS the others have exponentially more market share. And you don't take market share by being an "also ran".
The only winner here is HTC! they are in the drivers seat, so much so that they are giving MS second rate hardware and MS can't do "hsit" about it
