The Palm V has a number of different keyboard writing modes for you to get used to. Once is a simple Keyboard picture on the screen which you tap with the Stylus, the other is called the Graffiti mode. The graffiti mode is a little bit more difficult to use for beginners, as you have to use the bottom part of the Palm Screen to draw in letters and numbers. In the long run once you have gotten used to it, I can see it becoming much faster than tapping the on-screen keyboard to write letters/numbers.
