Versions of Norton Internet Security followed themselves and resemble each other despite a few minor enhancements. Norton Internet Security 2002 offers the main advantage to be Windows XP compatible. The new features introduced by this release are interesting but definitely do not justify the cost of the upgrade for existing users that didn’t adopt Microsoft Windows XP yet. Norton Internet Security 2002 remains a very good choice to protect every Internet connected computer. The Family Edition is a valuable package thanks to the inclusion of the outstanding Norton AntiVirus 2002 software. Thanks to the Norton Personal FireWall technology your PC will be definitely undetectable to hackers like it doesn’t even exist. Some will say Norton Internet Security is resource heavy, which is not false, but it remains the most efficient, easy to use, polyvalent firewall on earth. The major default of this new edition is the introduction of new bugs that degrade the surfing experience (some users report they can’t send files from Windows Messenger nor use some websites with NIS 2002 installed). We hope Symantec will fix these bugs very soon.

The support of every Microsoft operating systems from Windows 98 to Windows XP (as well as Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0 and 2000) is a good thing. In conclusion, Norton Internet Security 2002 is the ultimate firewall and children protection software out on the market despite some issues mentioned above.
